RE.A.L.L.Y Walk-a-thon

REspect Others. Appreciate. Life. Love. Yourself.

Message from Chet Walker: “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” This was Jesus’s command to the lame man in John 5 who asked for help getting into the pool. Like the lame man, I, Chet Walker, also asked the Lord for healing and help.

Since my incarceration, the Lord has continued to remind me of His love for me. He has not left me nor forsaken me. He has shown me that I have a purpose, and it is to glorify Him and serve others. Yet, I am in jail. What could I do? Sitting behind prison bars in my cell, I asked God. “How can you use me from this cell?” He responded, “Walk.” Walk in my Truth, Walk in my Saving Grace, Walk in my Strength and Walk for my Glory. So, I walked around the prison praying.

On those daily walks, God gave me an idea of how to serve others from these walls. Another inmate and I at Okaloosa County Correctional Institute are planning to complete a walk-a-thon for charity.
